What makes it unique?

Sterling House is a residential care home based on giving the over 65’s a place of their own (steering away from the conventional care home) where they enjoy an exceptional lifestyle yet use assisted person centred health care delivery as and when needed.

This is very much a first of its kind in Norwich and goes way beyond what any other remotely comparable Residential Care providers have to offer have to offer.

This tranquil development within easy reach of the city, includes 17 bespoke residential suites.

Sterling House residents will have their own individual up to date finished to a high standard modern care suite accessible by lift or stairs with its own front door. Each suite is big enough for a single occupancy or a double occupancy and comes with a fitted kitchen, a lounge from a minimum of 37 sq-m and bedroom – big enough for two singles or one double bed which has an en-suite toilet and shower wetroom, each suite is fully furnished and brightly lit with a built in emergency call and access system for peace of mind, however residents will be able to personalise their own space with pictures, photographs and items that are meaningful to them. Each suite has access to WIFI and its own TV if required.

Residents will have access to the Communal areas such as our spacious dining room, sun lounge and TV lounge with its own cinematic experience, dining rooms, lounge and outside spaces are shared with other residents; however you will have continuous access to enjoy the garden whenever you wish.

Sterling House is a modern home as residents will have their own apartment and thus will be quieter with a home-from-home feel when required but with the opportunity to get to know other residents but with the added peace of mind of 24 hour health support from care staff and the community nursing team. If you choose not to take advantage of our landscaped gardens, Sterling House will provide a variety of daily activities and trips supported by activity staff.

Person centred care delivery

Each individual resident will have their own needs dependent on their individualised Health diagnosis or requirements and this will be discussed privately during an initial assessment with you in order to ascertain your requirements prior to your admission and a full assessment completed by our health team in support of any outside professional body involved such as the community nursing team. Along with the Community nursing team support Sterling House will provide round the clock professional care and support for its residents of which dignity and respect will be adhered to at all times.

All delivery of care is carried out observing your privacy within the confinements of your own suite. Thus reducing the claustrophobic feeling that often accompanies care requirements when taking place within the confines of a conventional care home.

During the day, residents can enjoy all there is to offer for a well-earned continued quality of life, with a choice of activities from watching a film in the cinema room, exercise in the garden or a walk locally, creative activity in the crafts room or, simply relaxing in the day room or the courtyard to indulge in a morning coffee on the terrace, or simply enjoying looking out over the beautifully landscaped gardens.

Who’s it for?

Sterling House residents will be typically those from the age of 65 who are fiercely independent and have higher expectations of what they want in life and need additional health support. Residential care homes can offer excellent health benefits. Research from the International Longevity Centre has shown that residents within a residential setting will normally enjoy a more active old age and are healthier than their counterparts elsewhere.

White & Sterling Residential Care at Sterling House offers individuals the perfect mix of tranquillity and peace, privacy and companionship. With a fully qualified registered care manager on-site 24/7, residents can feel safe in the knowledge that they are in a caring environment which follows the fundamental standards as expected by CQC.
